Overview

A closed-door conversation with leaders accountable for when something goes wrong.

A serious workplace incident can expose an organisation to significant legal, regulatory and reputational risk within hours. What leaders document, who they notify, what they say and what they preserve can shape the outcome of a regulator investigation long before one is formally announced.

01

The first 48 hours matter
The session moves beyond compliance checklists to examine the real decisions that define an organisation's position immediately after an incident, from notification obligations and evidence preservation to internal escalation and regulator engagement.

02

Built for practical readiness
Two senior voices from either side of incident response will share operational and legal perspectives on what good preparation looks like, where organisations are most exposed and how response capability should be built before it is needed.

Who is attending?

Attendance is limited and curated for leaders accountable for safety systems, incident response protocols and regulator relationships across complex, multi-site operations.

Industries: Energy and utilities, construction, infrastructure, mining and resources, engineering, heavy transport and rail.

Job functions:

  • Head of HSE

  • Head of Safety, General Manager Safety

  • HSEQ, Director HSEQ

  • Safety: VP Safety, Group Safety Manager, Chief Safety Officer

Key areas of discussion

> Know your notification obligations
Understand what triggers regulator notification, the strict timeframes that apply, what information is required and how the notification is framed.

> Protect the evidence base
Explore what regulators examine in safety management systems and why documentation can become either an organisation's strongest defence or its greatest liability.

> Set the tone through communication
Consider the principles that should guide conversations with workers, contractors, executives, media and regulators in the immediate aftermath.

> Build response as a system
Assess whether your organisation has the capability, roles and practical framework required to respond consistently before a serious incident occurs.
