The solution
Ideagen Machine Safety provides a range of safety inspection services to Pickles across 25 geographic locations, as well as inspecting equipment at a multitude of sales held on client sites.
When considering how to handle safety inspection of its vendors’ plant and equipment, Pickles considered a range of factors and Ideagen Machine Safety was able to help work through consideration of these issues.
Pickles chose Ideagen Machine Safety to provide a full inspection service for all of its industrial operations across Australia.
“Firstly, we considered the option of doing our own plant safety inspections. We decided this was not the best option for us, as it may have been perceived as a conflict of interest if we were identifying safety deficiencies in vendor equipment. We were also unsure of our ability to develop and maintain suitable knowledge of safety legislation and Australian Standards,” Bruce recalls.
This saw Pickles decide to engage external professional inspectors to conduct machine safety inspections.
